North and South Lobbies
Defined by exquisite architectural design and bathed in natural light, our spacious Lobbies offer an ideal setting for all manner of events and activity. Whether your goal is to present, network or celebrate, there is ample space and flexibility to let your creativity take flight. Built in platforms on both sides of the Lobby provide focal-point stages for speakers or performers and can accommodate a variety of AV set-ups.
The Pickering Room (Board Room)
The Pickering Room is ideal for board, committee or corporate meetings. It also works well as a reception space for smaller groups any time of day, from breakfast to dinner, or just cocktails. This is a versatile space with an adjustable or removable board table, a built-in servery, 80" LCD monitor for presentations and floor to ceiling windows with adjustable blinds. The Pickering Room can also be expanded by opening up interior doors to the adjoining Green Room offering further space and flexibility.
Traditionally the private gathering space for artists and their entourage on performance evenings, this is a warm and intimate space suited for meet-and-greets or smaller cocktail receptions. The room is set with bistro tables and chairs and a portable bar but can be reconfigured to suit your needs. The lighting in this room is subdued and adjustable, creating an atmosphere of relaxed sophistication. The Green Room can also be expanded by opening up a set of interior doors to the adjoining Pickering Room, offering further space and flexibility.
North Court Patio
With it's reflecting pool and garden features, The North Court Patio is an exclusive and versatile outdoor space in the busy downtown core, perfect for a variety of events and activity, both public and private. The Patio surface area was recently expanded over the reflecting pool which allows greater flexibility of use and can accommodate larger groups. A dedicated Patio entrance was also added, accessed from King Street, via David Pecaut Square. During the summer months the Patio is equipped with a 'plug and play' stage including a tent and sound and light system. In case of inclement weather there is a built-in awning system to provide some protection or we can move your event indoors to the Lobby.
The Studio is a multi-use room with simple white décor and is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of backstage, which means privacy. The room is primarily used for auditions, tutored tastings, corporate meetings and luncheons, but is also a blank canvas ready to be transformed.
(audition rate) $450
Designed by Marianne McKenna, a founding partner of KPMB Architects, the Lounge is a unique space within the lobbies of Roy Thomson Hall. Created with exclusivity in mine, it was designed to complement the experience of enjoying fine wines and spirits. The room is tucked away behind simple but elegant wall panels, which can open up for additional capacity and captures the essence of what it means to “see and be seen.”
