TSO presents
Two hundred and fifty years after Beethoven’s birth, the flames of his genius burn as bright as ever. In these concerts—part of our year-long Beethoven@250 celebration—feel the bracing vigour and surging high spirits of his Second Symphony, and hear the rarely performed incidental music to Goethe’s political play Egmont, sung by Canadian Karina Gauvin and narrated by a special guest celebrity. Praised for her fearless style and fantastical soundscapes, Unsuk Chin possesses one of today’s most visionary and inventive musical voices. The TSO presents the North American Première of her newest composition, which was inspired by the music of Beethoven.
