The National Arts Centre Orchestra brings a dose of dark humour and slapstick charm to Roy Thomson Hall with Shostakovich’s riotous Ninth Symphony. Co-commissioned by the NAC Orchestra and the TSO, Nicole Lizée’s Zeiss After Dark is a Stanley Kubrick–inspired sonic homage to cinematography. Plus, music of pioneering composer Philip Glass honours the life and work of Toronto-born journalist Peter Jennings.
